Boulton and Sutton-were each sentenced to nine months' imprisonment* Maki, a Maori, was found guilty of stealing articles of clothing at Opotiki, but was acquitted, On tho charge of horseBtcaling ho was sentenced to three months' ' imprisonment.- George Barfoot, master 'of tbo ketch 'Tiri,' was found in Wyndham-streot at midnight with his leg broken; and was tnkeia to the hospital. Th? accident is supposed to be ■the result of a "street fight. —A monkey Mr" Sullen, the gsrdcn-keeper/jn trying to capture it, bad his hand lacerated 'severely, and the top of his thumb bitten off.—The,'Countessof Kintore' will not come from Napier,to Auckland to load for. London, Captain Bradick having accepted an.offer to load at lyttelton.— The' Jtloro' : left to-day. ■Mr and Mrs ,G. Bowen, and Mr P, A, Philips, Town Clerk, were among ,the passengers.—A horse, belonging to A. Clark arid Son, dropped dead to-day in Chancery-street, while drawing a dray.—-Shipwrights are busy repairing the damages by the gale. —The directors of. the Union Steam Shipping Company gave a 'lunch on board the s.s. 'Hawca' at 'Onehunga to-day. Seventy sat down, including nearly all the leading Auckland names, to a sumptuous repast.' After the cloth, many toasts were proposed and replied to, the principal being "Success to the Union Steam Shipping Company." Mr. Mc'Leau, director of tho company, presided, Captain Malcolm being in the vice-chair, The guests wont out and telurned-by. a special train.—The Star has an article chaffing Dr Pollen about his tolegram to Mr .Header Wood, soaping about his being a " man of business." —Dunn, for housebreaking and burglary, was sentenced to fourteen years' penal servitude. ■
