.Ohinemubi, May 24 In spite of the heavy rain a very good congregation assembled yesterday morning to hear the iicv Mr Willis, who preached in a largo outbuilding attached to the Imperial Hotel, Paeroa. In the afternoon Mr Mitchell provided a horse, and accompanied the rev. gentleman to Mackaytown, where!the attendance was also very good. After service was over a meeting of the congregation was held, and the Kev Mr Willis was requested to state to the Bishop that they would be very glad if arrangements could be made to hold Divine service atleast onco in Swo months during tho winter season, '( hey also requested Mr O. F.'Mitchell to apply, on their behalf, for church sites at Mackaytown and Paeroa, to bo reserved for the use and benefit of the members of the Church of England,
To Hira'a people ars busy building a largo storehouse, about 50 feet long, to hold the provisions for a great feast which is to bo given shortly in return for that given by the Kgatipaoa at Whakatiwai. Tho royal saluto fired at tho Thames at noon to-day, was distinctly heard by several persons hero.
Messrs C. 0. and E. Davis are up here on business connected with tho Komata difficulty, The former is passing through to 'J auranga to resume his landpurchasing operations at Taupu. It has been raining heavily since ono o'clock, and there will probably bo a flood in the lirer.
