Freed of life’s heavy load ■ui mortal care, That long, with cheerful patience thou didst bear? How falt’ring souls, where doth despond extend,* Found theo aye ready, kindly help to lend, With courtesy unfailing, quiet, rare, And simple faith that ever shamed despair— Brave, guileless, true, and trustful to the end! Adieu! Hence for that blest Elysian plain, ' Where is nor toil, nor fret, nor any sorrow, Nor snow, nor storm, 4ior ever heavy rain, i But endless sun-filled day without a morrow— The restful Now to know, and ecstasy Of Heaven’s best gift, sure—lmmortality ! —Robert ''j.
