By Telegraph—Press Assn.-Copyright, (Received Nov. 19, 2.25 p.m.)
CONSTANTINOPLE, Nov. 18. A captain in the Coldstream Guards, who became a lieutenant-colonel in Wrangcl’s army, tells a terrible story ot the retreat of his corps. In the thick final fighting he lost 75 per of his effectives in constant rearguard actions. The Bolsheviks’ success was duo to the overwhelming strength ,of their cavalry, which broke through the line. The retreat was conducted in heavy snowfalls and hitter, frost, through which Wrangel’s forces struggled without blankets and practically foodless. A pitiful sight was dying soldiers leaning on their rifles waiting for the snow to swallow them and form a winding sheet. Dead horses everywhere marked the retreat.
