RETURNED SOLDIER’S DEATH. « Per Press Association. PALMERSTON N,, Sept. 11. \ A returned soldier, William Henry Whiting, aged 24, whoso widowed mother resides at Palmerston North, was killed at a sawmill at Tangiwai, on the Main Trunk line, on Wednesday. While riding on a bush train, ho foil under a truck and his body was terribly mutilated. Ho went to the front with, tho 3rd Reinforcement, was wounded j. four times, and wys awarded the Mili- t tary Medal.
