MYSTERY NOT PENETRATED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, -August 27. Tire murder of Sydney S. Eyre at Pukokawa on Tuesday night still remains a mystery. A strong force of police is engaged on the case, but the absence of clues makes their work difficult. Tho funeral of the victim of the tragedy was held this afternoon, and was largely attended. LATE ME. EYRE’S PROPERTY. AUCKLAND, August 28. It transpires that Mr. Eyre, the victim of the Pukekawa murder, was a fairly wealthy man, owning farm property of a value of over £30,000. The police continued investigations to-day in the locality of the tragedy.
