PROFITEERING CHARGES.
SALE OF BENZINE. FINE OF £75 INFLICTED. Per Press Association. TE KUITI, Aug, 7. In the Magistrate’s Court D. B. Corban and Co. were charged, with selling benzine in excess of the price fixed by Order-in-Council. The evidence showed that the company bought at 23s lOd per case and sold at 19s 9d to 22s Id per tin. The Magistrate said that the case was such that he must impose a heavy penalty. The fine was £75 and costs.
