BRITISH RAILWAY FARES.
INCREASE CAUSES UNREST. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received July 22, 8.45 a m.) LONDON, July 20. The agitation against increased railway fares is spreading. Protest meetings have been held at tho seaside resorts, also by the metropolitan members of the House of Commons, who especially complained against the increase checking the August holiday traffic. Iho pressure on the Government is so strong that it is likely to defer the date of the increase from August 1 to September 1. It Is estimated that the postponement will cost £3000.—-Aus.-N.Z.
