PICTURE THEATRE MUSIC.
,10 THIS EDITOR. Sir, —It is time someone had a little to say about tho music dished up at our local picture theatres. As a regular patron of both theatres ono soon tires of .hearing the same music week after week. True, therb are occasions when something fresh flukes its way into tho orchestral box. I am informed by one of the theatre staff that the orchestra never rehearse. This is not hard to believe when one can distinctly bear the musicians “feeling thoir way” when they strike something nnw. There is a distinct absence, of style and sympathy with the music which is all played mechanically. Someone suggested asking the management to supply tho drum man with a “crash” cymbal. This is undoubtedly needed and would servo at least to wake things up. —I am, etc., “MUSIC AS WELT, AS PICTURE LOVER.”
