MUNICIPAL COUNCIL NOTICES. NEW PLYMOUTH BOROUGH COUNCIL. SPECIAL LOAN OF £57,000. rjTHE NEW PLYMOUTH BOROUGH COUNCIL hereby gives public notice that it proposes to borrow the sum of £57,000 by way of Special Loan under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.” The particular purposes for which the loan is required are:— (a) £42,000 for forming and reforming streets, carriage-ways and footpaths, and generally for ini proving the streets in the Borough, for purchasing, taking, or otherwise acquiring necessary land, buildings, machinery, plant and material therefor, for payment of compensation to persons injuriously affected thereby, generally for exercising the powers conferred by Part XXII. of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” or any enactment amending,, extending or modifying the same, and for any other , purposes incidental or in relation to any of the above-mentioned purposes. (b) £2OOO for providing, erecting and constructing within the Borough a privy of, privies, or other- convenience or conveniences for pub. lie accommodation, for purohas- ' ing, taking or other-wise acquiring necessary land, buildings, machinery, plant and material therefor, for payment of .compensation to persons affected thereby, and for any other purposes incidental or in relation to any of the abovementioned purposes. (c) £IO,OOO for- providing additions and extensions to the Borough “water-works,” as defined by Section 229 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” for purchasing, forking, or otherwise acquiring necessary land, buildings, machinery, plant and material therefor, for payment of compensation to persons injuriously affected thereby, and for any other purposes incidental or in relation to any of the above-mentioned purposes. (d) £3OOO for providing, constructing and placing buildings, engines, machinery, drains and other things' necessary for the good and efficient drainage of the Borough, for purchasing, taking, or otherwise acquiring necessary land, buildings, machinery, plant and materials therefor, for payment of compensation to persons injuriously affected thereby, generally for exercising the powers conferred by Part XXIII. of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” or any enactment amending, extending or modifying the same, and for any other purposes incidental or in relation to any of the above-mentioned purposes. The sum /proposed to he borrowed for, all such purposes is £57,000, at a rate of interest not exceeding £5 10s per centum per annum, with a sinking fund of one and one-half per centum additional. Tho proposed security for the said loan of £67,000 and tho interest and sinking fund thereon is an annually recurring special rate of nine-tenths ‘of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the said Borough, and it is proposed to repay the said loan on the Ist day of April, 1933. It is proposed to pay out of the -said loan tho cost of raising the said loan and the interest and sinking fund thereon for the first year.
