PRINCE MAY NOT COME TO NEW PLYMOUTH. CONSEQUENCE OF STRIKE. ADVICE NOT DEFINITE. When the news of the railway strike was received it, was at once regarded as doubtful ■whether the Prince of Wales would bo able to carry out his programme as regards visiting Taranaki centres. No information on the subject was received in Now Plymouth until this afternoon, when two telegrams from Sir Win. Fraser (Minister in charge of tho lloyal tour) wore received by the .Mayor. The first had been dispatched at 10.1,0 a.in., and tho second at 2 p.m. They read: “Your wire received. The alteration (in New Plymouth programme) has been mac(e to suit his Royal Highness. I feel suro that in tho circumstances you will he pleased, to meet the wishes of our Royal visitor.” “There is a grave possibility that in consequence of tho loco, men being called out the visit of his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to your town will have to be cancelled. I will, however, advise your definitely thereon later.”
