THE SOUTHLAND SCHEME. Pei- Press Association. INVERCARGILL, April 28. The Southland Electric Power Board, at a- meeting to-day, decided to .make an immediate commencement with the construction of the Lake Monowai scheme and appointed Messrs. Hay and Vickerman, of Wellington, as its constructional engineers to design and carry out the work. " Charles Campbell, who for some years has acted as secretary of the Southland League, was appointed secretary to the board. The constructional ;work will involve an expenditure of over a million and the work is to bo completed in three years.
