A LADY’S DISCOVERY. A NEW RECIPE . FOR BISCUITS. A well-known Auckland business man relates the .following little episode which actually occurred in bis own homo: — During the holidays the family were having afternoon tea with some lady visitors, and among the eatables provided was a plate of home-made biscuits. ■ After sampling these biscuits tho business man said to his wife: “Amy, dear, what a delightful flavour you have managed to get into these biscuits. They remind mo of that famous London make we used to get.” “Yes, indeed.” said one of the ladies present,; “the flavour is quite new to mo —so delicately alluring—and X have been trying to imagine how you got it.” “It was an accidental discovery;” said the hostess, “which you would never guess.”; "Oh, do tell us!” chorused the ladies. “Well, I thought I would try an experiment, and I added a spoonful of Tucker’s Custard Powder to my usual recipe. That is all.” In response to further pleadings the lady wrote out the recipe for her friends. Here it is : Two cupfuls of rolled oats, one , cupful of sugar. Jib. butter, one teaspoon ful of Tucker’s “Family” Baking Powder, one tablcspoonful of Tucker’s “Sunshine” Almond Custard Powder, one tablespoonful of flour, and one egg. Bake on a greased tray.
