STRATFORD BY-ELECTION.
MR. HINE AT TUTUTAWA. Later on Saturday evening Mr. Hine addressed an enthusiastic audience of about 60 electors at Tututawa, and received an excellent Mr Jacobsen, sour., was voted to the chair. Mr. Hine dealt with the Massey Government policy on similar lines to' his Runiwliakau address, and at the close of tho meeting Mr. Holly moved and Mr. Jacobsen, jimr., seconded:—. “That a vote of thanks be accorded to Mr. Hine for his address, and that tin's , meeting lias every confidence in Mr.'Hine as a suitable member to be re-elected for the district of Stratford,’’ and carried unanimously. MR. TUNE’S WORKERS- MEETING AT STRATFORD. “Tho best workers’ meeting in the campaign,” is the verdict of those present at the town hail. Stratford, on Saturday afternoon. The attendance of mostly country delegates totalled 220, and most encouraging reports were received from the whole cf the electorate. The country committees have completed all details for polling day, and it is quite evident that all voters for the Massey Government candidate will be at tho polling places on May 6, next. Mr. and Mrs. Hine were present, and tho candidate addressed the gathering and outlined his campaign, showing good progress in all the outlying portions of the electorate. Tho final rally is convened f° r Saturday next, at the Town Hall, Stratford, due notice of which will bo advertised through the Press.
