The cement company will try and arrange to send- regular shipments from Onehiinga by ordinary steamers, but shipping arrangements have already been made that will lift all cement available at Portland for tlio next ten days. Every in New Zealand, including tho centres, aro in precisely tho same position as your district, but the Board is endeavouring, in conjunction with the cementcompany, to deal fairly with each district." The Mayor of New Plymouth to-day received a telegram from tho Prime Minister stating that the Board of Trade is still negotiating with the shipping companies with a view to securing more tonnage for New Plymouth, additional to arranging for shipment of cement by the ordinary service.
