STRATFORD BY-ELECTION.
A representative gathering met Mr. Kino at I’unhvliiikau on Saturday evening. Mr. Hayes look charge of the gathering. Mr. lime dealt with the many problems affecting the welfare of the buckblocks settlers, .stressing the determination of the Massey Government to help the pioneers with the best schooling facilities, more assistance for the mothers with the nursing of the young New Zealanders in the outlying parts. Mr. Hayes moved and Mr. Steele seconded: “That a hearty rote of thanks be accorded to Mr. Hino and confidence in him ns a representative for the Stratford electorate, 1 and carried without a dissentient voice.
