NEW PLYMOUTH MALE CHOIR.
Seldom has the public of New Plymouth been offered such a musical treat as that which takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday next, when the Male Choir will give their first concert of the season. Miss Mina C:\kknv, who is paying her first visit to New Plymouth, will sing on Tuesday night “Depuis le jour” (Charpentier), “How’s my boy” (Homer) and Waiatn Maori (Alfred Hill); and her numbers for Wednesday night will be “My heart is weary” (Goring Thomas), “Summer night” (Goring Thomas), “I think thee not” (Mallinson) and “The Lotus Flower” (Scliuman). The Rev. Archibald Hunt, who has a reputation as a- versatile elocutionist, will give the following recitals; “The Highwayman” (Alfred Norge.s). “.The Now Hat” (humorous) by Hickory Wood, and a Dfckins character sketch, “Dan’l Peggotty” (David Coppcrfiold). On tlie second night Mr. Hunt will giro “The Revenge” (Tennyson), “Pinkie’s Piano” (humorous) by Hickory AVood), and “The Song of the Parson’s Son” (Robert Service). Those recitals are all new to New Plymouth audiences and should not be missed. Air. Ashley B. Macdonald will sing “The Desert Prayer” (Newton). This is the first time this song lias been given in New Zealand. The Male Choir numbers are all new and the choruses have been working bard under the able baton of Afr. F. AA 7 . G. M'Lcod.
