There wore good average yardings of all classes of stock to-day, except fat lambs. Prices eased considerably for fat cattle, freezing buyers not operating, but tne fat sheep and iamb demand was firm, and recent rates were maintained. Store sheep.—The yarding was smaller than at recent sales. The market was much improved for all classes, particulalry for wethers, of which there was a bigger proportion than usual forward. The excellent food prospects throughout Canterobury are having a .stabilising effect on the store market. Forward lambs made 10s Gd to 24s Gd; ordinary 15s Cd to IDs; cull, 10s to 12s Gd; good year lambs made 28s 9d; ordinary IBs Oil to 25s Gel. Good two-tooth ewes made to 32s Gd; ordinary, 25s to 28s Gd; two, four, six, and eight-tooth ewes, 25s 9d to 325; four and five-year ewes. 20s to 275; failing-mouthed,''lßs Gd to 235; good four, six, and eighttooth ewes, to 38s Id; sound-mouthed ewes, 22s 6d to 30s Gd. Good four, six, and eight-tooth wethers made 30k to ,345; inferior, 2Gs to 28s Gd; good twotoolh wethers, to 30s; inferior, to 255. Fat lambs.—27oo yarded, compared with 4300 last week. The sale was on a par with recent ones, freezing buyers securing the hulk of the entry’. Extra prime lambs brought from 33s Gd to 41s, prime 27s Gd to 32s Gd, medium 25s to 27s 3d, lighter 21s Gd to 24s 9d. Fat sheep.—The market was good throughout. Freezing buyers operated to a considerable extent. Extra prime wethers made 45s Gd to 53s Id, prime 37s 3d to 44s 9d, medium 31s 3d to 36s 9(1, lighter, 28s 9d to 30s 9d. Extra prime ewes made to 465, prime 35s 6d to 43s Gd, medium 31s to 355, lighter 23s ■ to 30s Cd.

Fat cattle. —355 penned, against 425 penned last week. There was a distinct drop in anything but prime, and the market was also much easier for best beeves. Freezing buyers were absent, and passings were frequent. Extra prime steers made to £24 7s 6d, prime £l7 15a to £23. medium £lB 15s to £l6 10s. lighter £lO 2s Gd to £l3. Prime heefers made £l2 10s to £lB, ordinary £7 to £l2. Prime cows made £l2 10s te £l7. ordinary £7 12s Gd to £ll 15s. Store tattle.—A full yarding, but spiritless demand. On account of the freezing works being unable to kill cattle at present, potters were a drug. Dairy cattle. —A good sale. Springing heifers brought up to £2O 10s, and second and third calvers to £l6.
