CHIEF CONSTABLE’S CAR.

PRISONERS RECAPTURED. - Per Press Association. AVHAKATANE, March 10. The two prisoners who escaped by seizing the policeman’s motor-car were recaptured at Rotoiti, bound for Rotorua. One was a Maori whose sentence for theft would-expire next Saturday; the other was a Pakeha named Brastings, awaiting trial for theft. The car was recovered undamaged.
