A committee appointed by the Labour Council to draw up a scheme for the prevention of strikes reported recommending the appointment of a disputes committee, which would be empowered to investigate a strike and decide if it was justified or the time opportune for striking. If'the committee’s decision was disobeyed"the striking union would not receive -assistance. The council also recommends the union to give notice to the council before striking.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
