Owing to the rain which commenced yesterday continuing this morning, work could not be commenced on airy of the four vessels in port, and none will be able to leave to-day. ' ' The Mapourika, from Wellington and Lyttelton, brought up outside the breakwater at 3.30 yesterday, and berthed after the departure of the Rarawa. The Hula did nqt berth until 6.30 а. to-day, remaining at anchor off the wharf during the night. She has about 2000 cases of benzine. The Anpouri (Northern Company), which has sailed from Onehunga for New Plymouth, Opunake and Wanganui, is not expected to be here to berth this afternoon in view of the rough weather prevailing. The cargo for New Plymouth consists of about 20 tops of explosives for the Harbour - Board. Telegraphed advice was received by the harbourmaster (Captain Waller) yesterday, from Zohrab and Co., Wellington, ' that the Stella had left Wellington for New Plymouth at 6 p.m. on Monday with benzine. The, Corinthic (S.S and A.) loft Southampton on Friday afternoon, in ballast, with, troops and passengers, for Wellington. She is due there on April б. The Port Chalmers was due at Wellington from New York, via Auckland, to-day, and' goes on to Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne and Sydney. The F. and S. steamer Kent is expected to leave Auckland tin’s evening for Wellington, and goes on to Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane to complete discharge.
