DELEGATES TO CANADA CHOSEN. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 23. ' At a large meeting of the local branch of the Empire Press Unipn, Sir George Fenwick presiding, it was announced that the Canadian Press had sent ah invitation to New Zealand to appoint seven delegates to attend the Imperial Press Conference at Ottawa in August, whoso travelling expenses would be defrayed. Twelve nominations were reCGived, Sir George Fenwick was re-elected chairman. He was congratulated on receiving a knighthood. The following wore elected the committee: Messrs. H. Horton, Coombe, Brett, M'Nicol, L. Blundell, Selig, C. , Earle, IV. Weston, and the Hon. G. Jones. The committee was requested to go over the rules with a view to obtaining more power for oversea branches to conduct their affairs. The following were chosen as delegates to go to Canada: Messrs. P. Selig (Christchurch Press), T. W. Leys (Auckland Star)f E. A. Jones (Southland News), W. J. Penn (Tarauaki Herald), J. Hutchison (Otago Daily Times), J. Parker (Wellington Post), H. Horton (N.Z. Herald). Sir Geo. Fenwick did not offer himself, standing aside in favour of Mr. Hutchison.
