At a meeting of Buller residents it was resolved to enter an emphatic protest against any totalisator permit being .given to any racing .club in honour of the visit of the Prince of Wales until the day taken from Wes tport Jockey Club for the Jellicoe meeting at Christchurch is restored; also expressing indignation at the attitude taken up by the Department, of Internal Affairs, wlicli ia apparently treating the contract entered into by the Racing Conference and the Westport Jockey Club as a scrap of paped.
