In the House of Commons, Mr. AValter Long (First Lord l of tho Admiralty) stated that Lord Jellicoe had not reported to the Admiralty on the-naval defence of the Empire generally, which was a. matter for the. MALTA, Feb. 18. The Mediterranean Fleet has sailed for Constantinople.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE JUTLAND BATTLE. LONDON, Feb. 18. There has been recently a revival of the Jutland battle controversy, owing to Commander Bellairs’ hook on the battle passing, strictures upon Lord Jellicoe's tactics, which, the book declares, lost a chance of annihilating the, enemy. The author considers an official account should bo published in order to show whether Lord Jellicoe lost the chance ' through ignoring Lord Beatty’s signal urging Lord Jellicoo to follow him and close with the enemy. Mr. Walter Long (First Lord of tho Admiralty) stated in the House of Commons to-day that an official account I would bo published in about a month, I with Admiral von Schecr’s account add--1 ed.—Aus.-N.Z.
