Advices from Cairo state that Syrian National Volunteers stopped a train in which General Gourand’s Chief-of-Staff was travelling, on the Beirut-Damasous railway, and removed him to the mountains. It is assumed the Chief-of-Staff was proceeding to Damascus to investigate the Baalbek fight.—Reuter Service.
