CRICKET.
TRIAL MATCH TO-MORROW. Two teams of Thursday players have been chosen to play a trial match tomorrow under the eyes of the North Taranaki selectors. The match will commence at 2 o’clock in Pukekura Park and the teams will Be:—“A” team; Nicholls, 'Whittle, Robertson, Nicoll, Clegg, Saunders, Partridge, Waller, Sutherland, O’Donnell, Harkness; emergency, Rowlands. “B” team: King, Woollett, Austin, Roper, Hughes, Foote, Cutfield, Butcher, Elliott, Currin, Woods; emergencies, Sole, Berg. For the Saturday trial match'Hasell and Robertson have notified the selectors that they will not be able to play. Their places have been filled by Sinclair and O’Hailoran. It is probable that next week Thursday and Saturday teams will again lie selected to play trial matches in order that the selectors may make their final selection of the representative team to meet the Nomads on December 30 and 31. Cricketers will be pleased to learn that Mr. Mnckie, who received an injury to a knee while practising in Pukekura- Park several weeks ago, is making good progress. He will, however, he in hospital for some months, and Will be pleased to see any cricketers who may visit the hospital.
