Captain Dctzner, lecturing before the Berlin Geographical Society said that the natives of Now Guinea were against the dominion of Australia, whoso military levies had developed into slave limits. Even English planters addressed a letter to Captain Detzner advocating that the country should not bo handed to Australia. The natives had collected money for a German w v moriah—Aust.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
