EDUCATION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,- —I rather admire that which was said in your paper concerning education, by “A Thinker.” He indeed hit the nail on the head. Take for instance the views not so very many years ago of a college professor who said, when asked what he thought , of the ability of the boys under him, “Not a very great deal, indeed.” It is true there are a few, as there are in every community, who will make something out of their scholarship, hut very few, lam sorry to say. Now that is what he intimated. I do not mean to aver, that he was to say a;l that I have written. Perhaps his silence, or more than probable his position, would not admit of him expressing his mind on the. subject clearly. And again for example take me, myself. You often hoar of those who have been to college, or even a primary school, wanting to be masters over others. Weil it is my nature to wan: a master over me every time.—l am, etc.,
