A MOTOR FATALITY,

MAS'CERTON, Sept. 22. At tho inquest on William J. Biggs, the victim of the motor accident, a verdict was returned that ho met his death by misadventure, there being no evidence to show there was inconi potent driving. death froai drink. DUNEDIN, Sept. 22. An inquest was opened to-day on tho body of Frederick Cowan, who died in hospital on Sunday. _ Deceased was arrested on the 11th inst., charged with drunkenness, and remanded ior seven days for medical treatment. He was removed to tho hospital on Saturday. Dr, Evans said deceased suffered from chronic alcoholism and bronchial asthma. Deceased was formerly engaged in clerical work at Trentham Camp, and had been drinking heavily since his discharge. Tho inquest was adjourned till Tuesday to secure evidence from Dr. Fitzgerald.
