Cable Assn. LACK OF SHIPPING. FOR AUSTRALIAN PASSENGERS.
(Received Sept. 23, 12.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 23. Thousands of passengers throughout the Commonwealth are awaiting shipping facilities to visit England and large numbers of Australians in London are waiting to return home. The Federal Government has issued a warning that passages cannot be secured within six months, except where business or other urgent reasons exist, as it is stated that a number of shipping companies are not prepared to accept the agreement recently reached by the Melbourne conference regarding overtime.—Aus.-N.Z.
