THE DANDIES.
SECOND NIGHT’S SUCCESS
A crowded house again greeted the Dandies on Saturday, the. second night of their season here. The Empire Theatre, generally 'so bare about the stage, looked festive and gay with the well-known gold and black staging effects, while- the Dandies themselves, in their smart dresses and suits, gave the finishing touches to a sprightly scone. The programme was the same as on the previous night, and all tho items were received with similar enthusiasm. Mr. Noel Monkman with his 'cello was again very popular, and -Miss Andrews was again heartily applauded for her rendering of that lovely old Scotch ballad, ‘‘Annie Dauric.” All the choruses were well received, while “The Keys of Heaven,” sung in good style by Miss Knight and 'Mr. Millar, deserved the hearty applause it called forth. Miss Lenore Graham also made quite a lift :in “Kitty, the Captain’s Daughter M a rollicking song which was sung with much sprightlincss. Special mention must also bo made of Miss Kitty Gelhor, who besides filling the post of accompanyist to perfection, quite won the heart* of tho audience by her songs at the!piano. Mr. Renn Millar in his solos proved a favourite, while Mr. Andrew Pace in “My Friend John” and other light comedy sketches caused a groat deal of laughter. The Dandies are appearing again to-night and to-morrow night >,in an entire change of programme, and lovers of entertainments in tho lighter vein should not miss the performance.
