RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

CARRIAGES DERAILED AT MARTON. FORTUNATELY NO ONE HURT. Per Press Association. MARTON, Sept. 20. Just as the Auckland express was leaving Marton for Palmerston this morning three passenger cars left tho line and were overturned and badly smashed. The accident is supposed to have happened through the rails spreading, as there was no other apparent cause. It is a miracle that no one was hurt, as the cars were full and they were turned over on their sides and their platforms broken. Tho road was also ploughed up. Tho accident caused a delay of about two hours. The road will have to bo built up round the scene of the accident, and it is not expected that the damage will be completely repaired till a late hour to-morrow.
