FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. Mr. Parris Taylor died of pneumonia on AVednosdny. A tangi is in progress. The Homo boat Essex is expected in tho roadstead next week. Private A. ATvughan arrived home on Thursday night from active service. An up-to-date lish shop has been opened in Mr. R. Gribbon’s new premises in AVest Quay. Sir J. AA’ard appears to have evolved Utopia. He hasn't missed anything from flying to the cost of living, and even of being born, although under this last heading a AVaitam woman has hinted that with ‘‘nappies" at 4s 6d a yard £6 a bnji.v will not go very far. The ladies guild of St. John’s Church has been revived and held its first meeting yesterday afternoon. A parcel of clothing is being despatched for tho poor of Auckland.
