DEMAND FOR MOKE REFORMS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received August 6, 12.35 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, August 4. The Trades’ Union Congress Committee reported that it was unable to accept the Labour Charter in the Peace Treaty as a full expression of the demands of the working classes. Mr. Gompors declared that he would strive for the improvement of the starter and demanded that Labour should not bo regarded as an article of commerce.. Ho urged the equality of women and men. The German delegates urged the application of the programme of the Berne International Conference, including the regulation concerning women’s labour and shorter hours. The French representative supported this and ‘declared thaj> tho workers must complete tho Labour charter.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
