TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL.
VARIOUS MATTERS. Tho monthly meeting of the Taranaki County Council was continued on Monday afternoon. With releronce to a letter from tho secretary to tho Kaimata Hal! committee, it was decided to reply that the council would deliver pipes to be used in improving the Irontago to the hall, hut would require tiio committee to pay for them. Mr. ACCabe waited on tho council to ascertain whether it would supply material for the settlers to erect a swing bridge over the Oaknra River. — The chairman and riding members are to inquire into the'matter and report. It was decided that the engineer shun I<l inspect and report on formation required at Upper Hurford Road, also metalling to connect tho metalled portions. Applications are to bo made for consent to the raising of loans of £BOO for the Kiribati Road, and £l5O for tho Lower Mnngorci Road, Pnkctotara. The council decided that its delegate to the Now Zealand counties’ conlerence should support the remit forwarded from the conference at Eltham in July. It was decided that Mr. T. 13. Knofflock should bo appointed a foreman, and take over Foreman Mallon's length, in the Moa riding. The mailer of housing of employees in the IVaiiara riding was referred to the chairman and Councillors C. and J. Andrews. Accounts were passed for payment as follows: General expenses, £7Ol 3s 5d ; Moa riding. £lOl 18a 7d; Mangorei riding £7O 0s 6d; IVaitarn riding, £■l37 6s; Omnta riding, £47 los od; Okalo riding. £lB7 2s tkl.
