AKXTJAL EFFORT. The annual report of the Kaimata* Dairy Company states; — The amount of cheese made during the twelve months amounted to 285, tons 12owt. Iqr. 2!b. At the date of balancing there were 1890 crates of cheese in the freezing works and 8S crates fu the factory. These have been taken at the price fixed by the Imperial with allowance made for shrinkage : and charges. - - Out of the surplus for the year of £4753 4s 4d payments have already been made totalling £1973 Is 6d, bringing the total payments on butter-fat so far up to Is Sd per lb., and leaving a balance of £2780 2s lOd, which will allow of another being paid out as the cheese gets away and the money comes to hand. - This is subject.to the estimates proving approximately correct. The sum of £520 has been sec aside to pay for 32 more shaves in the Taranaki Producers’ Freezing Works Company. This was made up of £IBO 19s ad, being rebates received from the Taranaki Producers’ Freezing Works Company for 1917-1918, and also £339, Os 7d which is charged against the pass year’s working account in accordance with a resolution passed at the last annual meeting. Your directors recommend that tho sum of '£246 13s, being Jd per lb. of butter-fat. be also set aside out of tha surplus account and placed to the credit of Sinking Fund A'o. 1. Owing to a quantity of the 1917-1918 make having to be stored in tho hall near the factory, there was a considerable loss in weight upon shipment, <ua compared with tactory weights. The remaining surplus for that season now stands at £765 2s (3-5 d nor lb,), and this will bo paid out to suppliers for, that season, as soon as certain repayments of storage charges are received from tho Imperial Supplies Department. The services of Mr. Gunderson aai manager, and Mr. Pcreival as, secretary, have been retained for the current year. Under Article 9a all tha directors retire from office and all are cdigiblc for re-election, except Mr. Jones, who has left the district. You will be called upon to appoint ati auditor and to fix his remuneration. Tho following is tho result of . tha year’s working:—Cheese,. 639,7741 b.: whey-buttor, 10,1281 b.; butter, 7381 b.; milk, 5,869,1901 b.; butter-fat, 236,7821 b.; average test, 4.03; lbs. of milk to 11b: choose, 9.2; lbs. of cheese to Tib. butter-fat, 2.7.
