WANGANUI GAS SUPPLY. AND THE WATERSIDERS’ ACTION. Por Press Association. WANGANUI, July 25. A special meeting of the Borough Council was held to-day to consider the position which has arisen at tho gasworks owing to tho watersiders refusing to load the Inga’s cargo of coal. Tlie supply of gas is only sufficient to last till Monday at full pressure, and there is no prospect of obtaining further supplies of coal until the end of next week unless the watersiders agree to unload the vessel. The council decided to reduce tho pressure of gas from 7 o’clock in the evening. CONCILIATION COUNCIL. NAPIER, July 25. The Conciliation Council sat here today to consider the bakers’ dispute. A settlement was reached on all questions, except wages and hours, which were referred to the Arbitration Court. The drivers’ dispute is being heard and it is anticipated that a settlement will be reached on tho lines of the recent Auckland agreement.
