LAND SALE.
Three farm properties belonging to Mr. W. Craig, situated at Papaiti (Wanganui River), Wangaehu, and Inglewood, were offered for sale by Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and 00., Ltd., at Wanganui on Wednesday. The Papaiti property was submitted in ten lots, varying in area from ten ten acres to 107 acres. Lot 2, containing 33J acres was started at £llO, and was sold at £l2B per acre to Mr. Hughes. Lot I, - containing 60 acres started at £9O per acre, and was sold for £122 to the same buyer. Lot 3, containing 10 acres, commenced at £IOO pel - acre, and was sold at £l6O per acre to Mr. Papworth. Lot 4, 10 acres, started at. £BO, and was sold to Mr. Parnell for £95 per acre. Lot 5, 553 acres, started off at £6O. Bidding did not increase, and' the lot was passed iu at £65. Lot 6, 573 acres, wrs passed in at £4O per acre. There were 61 i acres in Lot 7, for which bidding started at £4O per acre, and was passed in at £45. Sixty-eight acres were contained in Lot 8, which started off at £3O per acre, and was sold to Mr. Watson at £4O per acre. There were acres in Lot 9, which commenced at £2O, and was passed in at that figure. Lot 10 contained 25 acres, and was passed in at £5 per acre. The Wangaehu block, containing 215 acres, about five miles from Wangaehu, was submitted, and bidding started off at £2O. The block was passed in at £25. “■ For the Inglewood property, containing 227 acres, upon which there were erected a house and outbuildings, was passed in without a bid.
