A certain little girl was boasting about her father’s great ability as an artist. “Why,” she said, “with ons stroke he can change a smiling facd into a sorrowful one.” : “Pooh* that’s nothing,” remarked Tommy, Jones. “So can my teacher.” Large shipments of primary prdUuots have been made from the Dominion during the past few months, as a result of which the congestion during the war has been considerably relieved* The quantity of wool shipped from the Dominion during the eleven .months ended May 31 is estimated at 600,000 bales, as compared with 300,000 bales for the corresponding period of the previous year. About half of this quantity lias been shipped during the past three months, the quantity for the month of May being approximately 90,000 bales, 20,000 of which were shipped from Auckland. In regard to tallow, it is estimated that the quart*' tity -shipped for the eleven months to May 1 was five times in excess of tha| for the period last year. In dairy pro-* duce there was also a considerable in-t crease, the shipments for the presentseason up to June 4 totalling’ 524,48£> boxes of butter and 148,622 crates of cheese, as compared with 498,446 boxes and 78,900 crates respectively.
