The Catholic Centre Party in Gcr many is prepared to sign the peace treaty. The majority of the Govern ir.ent are opposed to signing and with Herr Ebert are expected to resign if the Assembly accepts the treaty. The Politiken’s Berlin correspondent says it is expected the National Assembly will reject the peace terms. The Vorwaerts anticipates the reopening of hostilities. The Frankfurter Zeitung says Germany must sign. The Hamburger Fremdenblatt describes the tremendous excitement in Bast Prussih. The population is ready to re-open the fight.—Aus.-N.Z. According to- a Copenhagen message two uniformed Spartacists overpowered the guard at a temporary military prison in Weimar and liberated 60 prisoners. The latter stormed the barracks, seized arms, and proceeded to the castle, where the German president and Ministers were staying, but the timely arrival of troops frustrated the attempt to capture the Govern-ment.—Aus.-N.Z. LONDON, June 19. Anti-Allies riots in German towns were suppressed with machine-guns. Spartacists captured the castle at Weimar and attempted to arreet_ Herr Noske. Fighting is proceeding.— United Service.
