Official. —While in London during the past few days Mr. Massey has conferred with the Ministry of 'Shipping regarding the supply of insulated ships. The Premier has now been informed that, if no delays arise out of labour troubles, the month of August, so far as the supply of such ships for .New Zealand is concerned, is expected to he one of the best experienced for some time. The Prime Minister visited'St; Dunstan’s'Hostel for blind soldiers and inquired into the progress and needs of about fourteen New Zealanders who are still there. All are receiving the best possible treatment, but they are keen to return to their own country. They were particularly interested in the conditions and prospects in the Dominion, and Mr. Massey was able to give them information as to thn special provision made for blind and otherwise incapacitated men. The soldiers at St. Dunstan’s are learning the Braille system of reading. Their instruction also includes technical training for useful occupations. During the. week Mr. Massey has had many interviews with leading'repre-sen-tatives of the Colonial Office regarding details of the Samoa and Nauru mandates, which now practically require only the final signatures. The Premier wilt return to Paris on Wednesday for a few more days, until it is finally decided whether the treaty will be signed or the Allied armies occupy Berlin.
