GROWLS AT NEW LIST. Per Press Association, HAMILTON, June 18. A largely attended meeting of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association unanimously resolved: That this association desires to place on. record tiL d |,v at tf aCtion i.- H ’ itl l the c, assifica d tion list, the meeting being emphatically of opinion that the department has totally disregarded the cost of living in compiling the list, and desires specially to call attention to the inade r quate increases provided for experienced and qualified officers of the rank and file. The meeting further calls upon Cabinet to authorise the immediate payment of the war bonus instalment, as promised, and that such bonus be automatically increased or decreased as the cost of living barometer rises or falls. * CHRISTCHURCH, June 18. At a pnass meeting of the Christchurch telegraph section to-night the following resolution was carried;—That this section of the telegraph division endorses the resolutions passed by the Wellington and other sections as appears m to-day’s press telegrams, expressing dissatisfaction concerning the present classification and the non-pay-ment of the promised bonus, TIMARU, June 18. A meeting of the Tiraaru Post and Telegraph officers passed resolutions strongly disapproving of the now classification, and urging an early conference with a view to adjusting the anomalies caused by the inconsistent and unfair assessment of merit, and the value of positions, and expressing indignation at the withholding of payment of war bonus till Sir Joseph Ward’s return, and promising support to the executive of any constitutional means to secure early payment.
