DUNEDIN, June 18.

At tlie Police Court Charles James Arnold was charged with the theft of £156, the property of Albert Hodge, a bookmaker. The case for tion. was that accused asked Hodge for change for a £lO note in a hotel, and that the latter gave three £SO notes, one £lO note, and six singles. Complainant admitted that when he started to count the notes lie referred to £SO notes, but still included thorn in the lot he gave accused. Ho .saw accused next day, but the latter denied having the money. Accused was committed for trial, bail being allowed in self £lO, and one security of £IOO.
