HOCKEY.

NORTH TARANAKI MEN’S CLUBS. A further meeting of those interested in the revival of hockey among men in North Taranaki was held at the Soldiers’ Club on Monday night. There was a good attendance, and it was reported that there would in all probability be three clubs in New Plymouth and one at Inglewood, which should at least give tho game a fresh start this season. A practice match has been arranged for Saturday, on the racecourse, at 2.30 p.m., and intending players are invit#J to bo present, even though they may not have been able to be at tho recent meetings held. The meeting on Monday night elected an executive, and a competition will be started at an early date. As there may bo a difficulty a tpresent in securing enaugh sticks, old players who have no further use for sticks in their possession are invited to assist tho new organisation in this matter.
