PAULINE FREDERICK— 1 ‘FEDORA’* The thousands of admirers of Pauline Frederick, the charming and brilliant exponent of the great Sardou roles, made famous by/the genius of Sarah Bernhardt, doubtless will be pleased to learn that this popular Paramount star is now at The People’s in her newest photoplay, “Fedora,” q picturisation of the masterpiece of the great, French dramatist. In this remarkable photoplay Miss Frederick portrays' -the role of Fedora, a Russian princess, whose sweetheart, Count Vladimir, is mysteriously shot and killed on the eve of their wedding. Miss Frederick is afforded great scope for emotional acting, in which roles her greatest successes have been scored. “The Railroad’ Raiders,” No. 2, gazette, comedy and Bur-ton-Holmes travelog are also on the hill.
EVERYBODY’S. LAST NIGHT OF ALICE BRADY IN “THE BETTER HALF.” “The Better Half,” at Everybody’s, has made a strong appeal to patrons or this house, the changing incidents in the story making it both interesting and exciting. Alice Brady, the star featu red, makes a distinct success of her role. It is a picture of two sisters who are held up to the inspection of the audience. They are twins—alike in face as twins are supposed to be, but totally different in character. Tht two lives are depicted in wonderful fashion, making for the wholesome enjoyment of patrons. One is ideal, whereas the other, of opposite temperament, is nevertheless interesting. “The Better Half” screens finally to-night.
