LICENSING COMMITTEE.

ANNUAL AND QUARTERLY MEETING. The annual and quarterly meeting of the Taranaki Licensing Committee was held at the courthouse, New Plymouth to-day (Friday). Present: Messrs. J. W. Poynton, S.M. (chair), F. P. Corkill, TV 7 . Ambury, and D. H. M'Donald. NEW LICENSES. The following new licenses were granted: Maria M‘Keen, Criterion Hotel, New Plymouth; Thomas Richards, Imperial Hotel, New Plymouth. The application of David Martin Wilson, Inglewood Hotel, was adjourned for three months, pending the completion of certain repairs to bo made to the premises. Ernest ,C. Heel, Railway Hotel, Inglewood. The application of Rebecca Tabor, Terminus Hotel, New Plymouth, was adjourned until June 19, pending the cmpletion of certain repairs. RENEWALS GRANTED. Thomas Knowles, Breakwater Hotel; TV. G. Emeny, Royal Hotel; E. Whittle,, Red House Hotel; H. J. S. Brookman, White Hart Hotel; Alex Sanson, Okato Hotel (accommodation license); Edgar Owen Meredith, Oakura Hotel (accommodation license). Application for transfer of license for the Imperial Hotel, Now' Plymouth, James Hawkins to Thomas Richards was granted. '(Tic application of Abraham Goldwater, New Plymouth, for a wholesale license was granted. The application ofy the Northern Steamship Company for a packet license for the s.s. Rarawa was granted.
