EMPIRE DAY.

CELEBRATION IN LONDON

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. LONDON, May 24 There were many Empire Day celebrations, including a concert in Hyde Park, in which a choir of 10,000 voices took part; also a service at St. Paul’s for the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. Tire King and Queen attended a memorial service at Westminster Abbey for the fallen Dominions’ soldiers.

A hundred thousand people attended the festival in Hyde Park, which concluded with an enthusiastic demonstration as the King and Queen, in response to an insistent demand, ascended the conductor’s platform, the crowd singing the National Anthem and “For He’s'a Jolly Good Fellow.”—Aus.-N.Z.
