MAORI PIONEERS v. WELLINGTON Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. June 3. The match between the Pioneer Maori Battalion and Wellington resulted in a draw, each side scoring .three points. The game was rather disappointing from a spectator’s viewpoint, and both sides missed several chances of scoring. Soon after play Pollock (Wellington) secured a mark, and Jackson goaled. The Maoris’ score was obtained early in the second spell, Jacobs getting a try alongside the posts. Hall’s kick failed. WAIRARAPA v. HAWKE’S BAY. NAPIER, June 3. The' inter-union Rugby match Wairarapa v. Hawke’s Bay was played today in brilliant weather in the presence of about 2500 spectators. A fast and fairly open game ended in favour of Hawke’s Bay by 18 points to 3. For the winners trios were scored by Pacna (2), Groonsido, and 'Mitchell, three of which were converted by Hendley. For Wairarapa, a try was gained by James. There was not a great deal of difference between the teams, but the homo side made no mistakes when the opening offered. THE ASSOCIATION GAME. CANTERBURY v. WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, June 3. The Association match Canterbury v. Wellington resulted in a victory for the heme team by three goals to one. The game was keenly contested throughout. WELLINGTON DRAW WITH WANGANUI. WANGANUI, June 3. An Association football match was played to-day between the Wanganui representatives and a Wellington touring team in fine weather. The game resulted in a draw, each side scoring a goal. In the first half Randall scored for Wellington, and near the .end of the second half Beckett scored for Wanganui from a penalty shot. The team is fit and well, and have been permitted to practice ashore. They expect to reach Sydney on Thursday. TDKAPA ENTRIES. The Tukapa Club has found it necessary to revise its entries for the competitions. Tlie original entries of a senior team for the Thursday and Saturday competitions respectively, and a first junior Thursday team have been withdrawn. The club has now entered a first and a second junior team for the Thursday competitions, and will probably enter a second junior team for the Saturday competition. STRATFORD. The withdrawal of the Clifton team from the Thursday senior competition left only Tukapa and Stratford. In consequence, of the re-arrangement of teams that has taken place a suggestion has been made that StratfordT which finds it impossible to enter a Saturday senior team, should enter,two additional junior teams in the Thursday compotition, and distribute the members of the proposed senior team between them. The following team will represent Star First Juniors in the match against Tukapa First Juniors on the Recreation Ground on Thursday:— Scrimgeour. Falwnsser, Tito, Cliff. Pennial, Manu, Smith, Sims, Page, Jones, Davis, Owen, Brown, Hoffmann, and Kettlewell. Emergencies; Bowie and Carran. Players are requested to be on the ground at 1.15 p.m. sharp.
