TERRITORIAL MILITARY' BALL.

ARRANGED BY “A” COMPANY. On Tuesday evening a military ball was held in the Coronation Hall) being an outcome of the recent formation by “A” Company, 11th Regiment of the New Plymouth Territorial Club. The proceeds ax'® to be used to assist the club. The attendance numbered between 300 and 400. The military Grand March, with which the ball opened, was directed by Mr. J. Hoskin and led by Chaplain Lieut.-Colonel F. O. Evans and Mrs. 0. J. Howarth, Major F. W. Sandfox-d and Miss Dalziel, Lieut. O. J. Howarth and Mrs. Pennington. Returned soldiers and their partners were followed by Territorials and their partners. The hall presented a very pretty appearance, the walls being covered with fern-tree fronds and the roof being ixung with a vast array of flags and coloured electric globes- The Citizens’ Band provided the music for the openxng and was followed by Mrs. George’s orchestra.

The supper-room also presented an exceedingly attractive appearance. The table decorations of various flowers artistically arranged made a most pleasing dash of colour in contrast to the greenery with which the white walls were clothed. The latter portion of the decorations was a decided credit to those who carried it out—Messrs. R. Bennooh and C. Sadler. The whole suppor department was controlled by the Mayoress (Mrs. C. H. Bui'gess) and a committee consisting of flip following : Mesdames Gardner, Wyatt, Goad, M'Kenzie, Moverloy, Stringer, Williams, Bennoch, Townsley, Drury, Hartley, Misses W. Sole and Everest.

The M’s.C. were Messrs. J. Hoskin, W. Hughes, J. Cross and Pellew. The secretaries (Lieut. Howarth and Eifleman M'Ginty) and the general committee must bo heartily congratulated on the excellence of their arrangements and the success which attended the first military ball of tho Territorial Club.
