DEATH OF A CHILD.
DURING APPENDICITIS OPERATION.
A child named Victor Ernest Gowen, aged 5 years, son of Mr. G. Gowen, Mangorei Road, New Plymouth, died at the New Plymouth Hospital on Saturday night while under the influence of an anaesthetic. He was being operated upon by Dr. Fookes for acute appendicitis, the anaesthetic being administered by Dr. Wade. An inquest was being held before an acting-coroner and jury this afternoon
